Indian citizens, both men and women, can take the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 2024 to become Group ‘A’ Gazetted Officers in the Indian Air Force. They can join in the Technical and Non-Technical Flying and Ground Duty branches.
The time to apply online for the AFCAT 2024 began in May 2024. Starting on May 30, 2024, online registration began, and the last day to finish the process is June 28, 2024. This hiring drive will help the company fill 304 open positions.

Criteria for Eligibility for AFCAT 2024 Positions
Minimum level of education needed
- The branch that flies:
- At least 50% in math and physics at the 10+2 level.
- A bachelor’s degree (three years of study) with at least 60% or the equivalent.
- A BE/B Tech degree (four-year course) with at least 60% or the equivalent.
- People who have passed the Section A and B exams for Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India) or the Aeronautical Society of India with at least 60% marks or the equivalent.
- The technical branch of ground duty
- A four-year degree in engineering or technology with at least 60% marks is required for the job of aeronautical engineer (electronics). You must also have at least 50% in both physics and math at the 10+2 level.
- A four-year degree in engineering or technology with at least 60% marks is required for the job of aeronautical engineer (mechanical). You must also have at least 50% in both physics and math at the 10+2 level.
- Branch of ground duty that isn’t technical:
- For administration and logistics jobs, you need to have graduated from a three-year degree program with at least 60% or the equivalent.
- For the Accounts Branch, you need a B. Com degree or something similar with at least 60% marks.
- Education: At least 60% in your graduation and 50% in your post-graduation course.
- You need a Bachelor of Science in meteorology with at least 60% marks in physics and math, or a four-year Bachelor of Engineering or Technology with at least 60% marks.
- Limit on Age
- Adults (20–24 years old as of January 1, 2025) born between January 2, 2002, and January 1, 2006. For people with a legal and current Commercial Pilot License from the DGCA (India), the upper age limit can be lowered to 26 years.
- As of January 1, 2025, you must be 20 to 26 years old and have been born between January 2, 2000, and January 1, 2006.
Process of Choosing
The AFCAT 2024 selection process starts with a written test and those who pass move on to the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) tests. The final ranking list is made based on how well people did on both the written exam and the AFSB tests.
Examination in Writing
The AFCAT written test has multiple-choice questions about General Knowledge, English Verbal Ability, Mathematical Ability, and the Military Aptitude Test and Reasoning. The test lasts for two hours, and the highest score possible is 300.
Testing by AFSB
Those who do well on the written test will be asked to take AFSB testing, which includes:
Stage I: An officer intelligence test, a picture perception test, and a discussion test.
Stage II: Group tests, an interview, and a psychological test.
For the flying branch: CPSS (Computerized Pilot Selection System).
Fee for Application
When people fill out an online application form, they have to pay ₹550/- as a registration fee. You can pay the fee online with an Internet banking account, a credit card, or a debit card.

3. Enter the information asked for to make a login name and password.
4. Use your registered email address and the password that the system gives you to log in.
5. Fill out the application form with information about yourself, your schooling, and the courses you want to take.
6. Upload the necessary files, such as a picture, signature, or thumbprint.
7. Pick the city of the test.
8. Pay the non-refundable fee of ₹550/- plus GST to get into AFCAT.
9. You can save the entry form by downloading and printing it.
